Canvas: Using SpeedGrader to Create Captions (Video)

Learn about using the speech-to-text feature of SpeedGrader to create scripts for narrated PowerPoint presentations and YouTube videos.

Marjorie Bazluki, Instructional Designer at UW-La Crosse developed a short-cut way for creating video captions.  In the video linked below, Marjorie demonstrates using the "speech-to-text" feature of SpeedGrader in Canvas to create a rough transcript of a narrated PowerPoint presentation. The transcript can then be edited and uploaded to a Kaltura video as closed captioning.  This technique can also be used to caption YouTube videos.

Many thanks to Marjorie Bazluki, University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for developing this process and recording the video.
