Online Storage - Map a drive (Windows 8)

How to connect to network storage (J-Drive, S-Drive) on Windows 8 while on the UW-Platteville campus network.

1)   From the start menu, press "Windows logo key + e" and this will bring up the "File Explorer" window.  You can also use the search function to do this by typing in "File Explorer"

2)   Click "Computer" in the upper left, then click "Map Network Drive".

3)   Enter the path to your drive as shown and click the boxes below.  Replace "firstinital" with the first letter of your username and "username" with your campus username.  Click "Finish".  If you want this drive mapped every time you log in to Windows, check the box to Reconnect at sign-in.  If not, leave this box unchecked.  Additional campus paths can be found at the bottom of this document.

4)   Enter your credentials and press "OK".  If you are connecting a personal machine that is not on the campus domain, enter "ION\username" (without quotes) in the username field, then your campus password.  The directory should appear on screen and be visible under "Computer"  If you do not want to be prompted at every login, check the "Remember my credentials" box.
