Online Storage - Map a drive (Windows 10)

How to connect to network storage (J-Drive, S-Drive) on Windows 10 while on the UW-Platteville campus network.

  1. From the desktop, click on "File Explorer" in the task bar.

  2. Click on "This PC" in the left-hand column, then the "Computer" tab at the top of the window and "Map network drive".

  3. Enter the path to your network drive as shown and click the boxes below.  Replace "firstinitial" with the first letter of your username and "username" with your campus username.  Click "Finish".  If you want this drive mapped every time you log in to Windows, check the box to Reconnect at sign-in. If not, leave this box unchecked. Additional campus paths can be found at the bottom of this document. If connecting a personal computer, not on the domain, check the box to use different credentials. Enter "ION\netID" and your campus password.

  4. Enter your credentials and click "OK".  If you are connecting a personal machine that is not on the campus domain, enter "ION\username" (without quotes) in the username field, then your campus password. The drive should appear on screen in a new window and be visible under "This PC". If you do not want to be prompted at every login, check the "Remember my credentials" box.
