Web - Creating a Link

This document will teach you how to link text from your page to another page on Drupal or to a file within the Drupal file server.

  1. Enter text into the Rich Text Fields
  2. Click and drag to select the text you want to link
  3. Click the Link icon in the toolbar
  4. Change Link Type to the type of link you want to create
    • Internal Path: Used for linking to another drupal page.
      1. In the 'Link' box Search for the page by title or enter node/{Page Node Number}
      2. Jump to Step 5 at the bottom.
    • URL: Used for linking to files or external pages.
      • External web pages
        1. Enter the Url of the page you to link to. Please only link to creditable 3rd party pages.
        2. Jump to Step 5 at the bottom
      • Files
        1. Click Browse Server
        2. In 'Navigation' browse to the folder were the file is
        3. Select the file
        4. Click Insert File
        5. Jump to Step 5 at the bottom.
    • Link to anchor in the text: Used for jump you viewer to content on the page
      1. Select from the list of anchors that are to the page. Note: You need to add anchors to the page before you see any listed.
      2. Jump to Step 5 at the bottom.
    • Email: Used for linking to the end users email client to send an email to the provided email address
      1. Fill in the Email Address of where you want the email to go.
      2. (optional) Fill in the Message Subject to provide an initial message subject
      3. (optional) Fill in the Message Body to provide an initial message body
      4. Continue to Step 5 below.
  5. Click OK
