Camtasia 2 for Mac - Starting a Project, Recording, and Importing Media

This article will instruct users on how to start a project in Camtasia 2, record the screen, and import media.

Starting a New Project

1. Click File
2. Click New Project

Start a Screen Recording

1. Click the red button in the left side of the screen or go to File, then click New Recording
2. A recording menu as shown below should appear, click Record to start recording
3. For other options, there is a microphone toggle button and drop down to pick a mic
4. Other options include recording a webcam at the same time, or recording only a portion of the screen

Recording a Screen Region

1. Click the arrow next to full screen and choose Custom Region
2. Click the red button then drag the mouse over a region of the screen to record

3. Click the Red Button to begin recording, click the left facing arrow to bring back the recording menu
 

Importing Media

1. Go to File in the top left, click Import Media
2. Choose the media that is to be added (look for a file with a downwards pointing arrow) 
3. The media will now appear in the box on the left hand side of the screen
