Aligning Outcomes in Canvas

Canvas has several tools to use to track and improve student learning in your course. The Outcomes tool can be used to track General Education outcomes, program outcomes and course outcomes. This document provides instructions on adding the UW-Platteville General Education Outcomes to a Canvas course.

Add Outcomes to a Course

General education and/or program outcomes can be added to your Canvas course very easily.
  1. Click Outcomes

    2. Click the Find button

  1. Open Account Standards folder by clicking on it

  1. Open the UW Platteville - Instructional Top Level folder [note that there are 2 similarly named files]

  1. From this space you can select the folder that holds the outcomes that you want to import, and click Import, found in the bottom right corner

  1. Click OK to confirm the import of the outcomes folder
Confirm import
The outcomes are now available in your course so that you can align them with assignments and quizzes in Canvas and the institution can obtain student data related to those outcomes.
