Canvas: Outcomes overview
Outcomes can be aligned to assessments in Canvas. Student learning outcomes can be created specifically for a course. In addition to course outcomes, general education outcomes and program outcomes can be imported from folders and easily added to a course to allow for achievement reporting.
The Canvas LMS provides faculty and instructors a convenient way to track student performance toward course, general education, and program-level outcomes.
Learning outcomes can be individually created in a Canvas course. This works well for course learning outcomes. At the institution level, general education outcomes and program outcomes are available to import into a Canvas course and aligned with an assignment rubric. To create outcomes directly in your course, see Canvas Guide: How do I create outcomes for a course?
At the institution-level, shared outcomes folders for general education and program outcomes provide departments a way to assess students directly in a course with a single reporting stream. Shared outcomes folders can also be used at the course-level for multi-section courses.
