ITS Maintenance Outages: Several affected May 1; Extended PASS outage as new version is deployed

Posted: 20:46:52, Wednesday, Apr 29, 2020   Expiration: 20:46:52, Wednesday, May 6, 2020

Several systems will be affected by updates during the weekly maintenance window from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1. In addition, PASS will be down for an extended outage as we upgrade to PASS Campus Experience (CX).

Regular outages from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

  • Password Self-Service - down all hour
  • Network printing - updates, brief intermittent outages
  • Network storage - updates, brief intermittent outages affecting
    • J: - User1
    • H: - App1
    • K: - Acad1
    • V: - Trees1
    • M: - Media1
    • T: - Tech1
    • NOTE: To protect data integrity, do not edit files on the network storage during this outage.
  • Business Intelligence - regular updates
During the hour, Zoom passwords will be implemented as well, but this does not require an outage.

NOTE: Due to the release of vendor updates and patches outside ITS control, any university system may experience brief intermittent outages. Because these updates may be released any time it is not possible to include them all in this list.

If you are not able to access a system during the maintenance hour, please wait a couple of minutes and try again. If you continue to experience problems, please contact the ITS Help Desk.

Extended outage: PASS down from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

PASS will be unavailable from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. as the system is updated to the new "Campus Experience (CX)" version. PASS CX will sport a new interface featuring a modern, streamlined look and a more intuitive experience. It is user-friendly and allows students, faculty, advisors, applicants, and third-party guests to work in one place. In anticipation of this change, PASS Express was disabled on April 24.
We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your patience. If you have questions regarding these outages, please contact the ITS Help Desk at 608.342.1400 or helpdesk@uwplatt.edu.
