ITS Update: Platteville campus phones to receive upgrades April 8-9

The Unified Communications infrastructure on the Platteville campus will undergo upgrades on Thursday and Friday, April 8-9. Desk phones and Cisco Jabber will be affected Friday evening only. See detailed schedule below.
Thursday, April 8 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Upgrades to voicemail and network components.
Impact: No disruption in service is anticipated
Friday, April 9 from 5:00 – 11:00 p.m.
Upgrades to Unified Communications infrastructure.
Impact:
- Cisco desk phones will experience short (30 sec) reboots for server failover and software upgrades during the upgrade window.
- Cisco Jabber (PC, Mac, Mobile) will be unavailable during the entire upgrade window.
- The Phone Self-Service portal will also be unavailable.
During Friday’s upgrade, in the event of an emergency, analog lines (fax machines, courtesy phones) and cell phones will be available.
NOTE: It is possible individual phones may not reboot properly after the server failover or software upgrade. Individuals with affected phones should contact the ITS Help Desk during business hours for assistance at helpdesk@uwplatt.edu or 608.342.1400.
