ITS is taking advantage of the fall break day to complete tech maintenance and upgrades on various systems beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 29 and extending into the evening hours. See the full schedule below (updated 10.28.21).

9:00AM to noon - Multi-factor authentication will be applied to virtual desktops
During the process virtual desktops may be unavailable briefly; if you cannot log in, please wait and try again later. NOTE: When this work is completed, two-factor authentication will be required to access all UW-Platteville virtual desktops.

3:00 to 6:00PM - Baraboo Sauk County campus gets fiber connection
During the outage, the entire Baraboo Sauk County campus will be offline (wired and wireless) as UW-Platteville and UW-SysNet staff connect the campus network to new fiber, which will provide additional bandwidth for the Baraboo Sauk County campus.

5:00 to 9:00PM PASS, BI, databases down
Enterprise Systems (PASS, BI, databases) are scheduled to be down for an extended outage as staff apply quarterly updates. NOTE: To prepare for the updates, Business Intelligence will be offline early beginning at 4:30 p.m. Please plan accordingly.

Weekly maintenance window 5:00 to 6:00PM

Upgrades to storage volumes will continue this week with Trees1, Media1, and Data 1.  These volumes will not be available during the maintenance hour.

ADDED 10.28.21 -- In addition, People pages will be disabled during this hour. They have been replaced with Profiles. Faculty and staff are encouraged to update their profile information following these instructions. For more details, refer to the September 13 University Update titled, "New web profile system for faculty and staff".

NOTE : Due to the release of vendor updates and patches outside ITS control, any university system may experience brief intermittent outages. Because these updates may be released any time it is not possible to include them all in this list.

If you are not able to access a system during the maintenance hour, please wait a couple of minutes and try again. If you continue to experience problems, please contact the ITS Help Desk.

We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your patience. If you have questions regarding these outages, please contact the ITS Help Desk at 608.342.1400 or
