ITS Update: Phishing attempt threatens to block messages 07.27.16

The ITS Help Desk has received reports of a phishing message alerting you that "your e-mail account was LOGIN [sic] by Unknown IP address". You are instructed to CLICK LINK BELOW to validate and verify your account or "your account will be temporary [sic] block". This message appears to come from the UW-Platteville account of "Ross P. Doyle".
Pioneers should remember that ITS will NEVER ask for your password in an email - or through a link from an email. Never, ever. SERIOUSLY.
- If you receive such a message from "Ross P. Doyle", please DELETE it immediately.
- If you receive such an email from any other sender, please REPORT IT to the ITS Help Desk at 608.342.1400 immediately.
- If you clicked on the link and logged in, CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY and contact the ITS Help Desk at 608.342.1400.
