Posted: 16:18:46, Wednesday, Oct 11, 2017 Expiration: 16:18:46, Saturday, Oct 14, 2017
The following systems will be down during the scheduled IT maintenance window from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13:
- PASS – regular updates
- Business Intelligence – regular updates
- Network printing – updates; brief outages throughout the hour
If you are not able to access a system during the maintenance hour, please wait a couple of minutes and try again. If you continue to experience problems, please contact the ITS Help Desk.
Update: Firefox browser to be updated October 13On Friday, Oct. 13 ITS will begin updating web browser Firefox. The update will be pushed out and will not require an outage; it should not cause any disruption. This update will provide more security and increased compatibility with off-campus websites.
Beginning Friday, if you use Firefox, you may receive an “update in progress” message when you first open the browser; most likely, there will be no difference. However, the update will wipe Firefox shortcuts pinned to the task bar. This is expected. Simply re-pin.
Update: Hardware failure October 6The replacement part we expected yesterday has arrived today. ITS staff have determined it is possible to perform the repair without taking PASS down or causing a work disruption. If you hear no more about it, assume all is well!
We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your patience. If you have questions regarding this outage, please contact the ITS Help Desk at 608.342.1400 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
