The ITS Help Desk has received numerous reports of a phishing message claiming "All staffs [sic] and Students are expected to migrate to the New 2017 Microsoft Web Portal". You are then instructed to "click here to migrate" in order to access a variety of information. The message appears to come from the campus account of “Liam Gerl IV” (no subject) or "Matt Baker Jr" (subject: Help Desk).
Pioneers should remember that ITS will NEVER ask for your password in an email - or through a link from an email. Never, ever. SERIOUSLY.
- If you receive such an email from “Liam Gerl IV” or "Matt Baker Jr", please DELETE immediately.
- If you receive such an email from another sender or uwplatt account, please NOTIFY the ITS Help Desk.
- If you clicked on the link and logged in, CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY and contact the ITS Help Desk.
If you have questions regarding these incidents, please contact the ITS Help Desk at 608.342.1400 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
