ITS Maintenance Outages: BI, printing down January 5; extended - wireless connections, January 5; phone updates, January 8

The following systems will be down during the scheduled IT maintenance window from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 5:

  • Business Intelligence
  • Network printing
NOTE: Due to the release of vendor updates and patches outside ITS control, any university system may experience brief intermittent outages.  Because these updates may be released any time it is not possible to include them all in this list.
If you are not able to access a system during the maintenance hour, please wait a couple of minutes and try again.  If you continue to experience problems, please contact the ITS Help Desk.

Extended – Switch upgrades (postponed from December 29)

Wireless connections in all academic buildings (except Karrmann Library 4th floor) and Southwest and Bridgeway Halls will be interrupted briefly beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 5 as ITS staff perform regular switch updates.

While the entire process is expected to take several hours, the wireless access points and campus phones in each building will be out for only about five minutes as the system in each building is rebooted in turn.

Looking ahead: VoIP phones to be updated January 8

Beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 8, ITS staff will be initiating maintenance updates to campus VoIP phones. The campus-wide process is expected to take two hours.  

During this period, each phone will reboot and become unavailable for several minutes; you may notice your phone display flash at this time.  Do not unplug your phone during the update period.

When the update is completed, your phone should be ready for use; however, it is possible for phones to reboot and not regain connectivity.  If your phone is not connecting after the update, please contact the ITS Help Desk for assistance.
