Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN Client for Mac OS Users

Setup on how to configure the GlobalProtect Client on Mac OS.

Palo Alto GlobalProtect Client for Mac OS Users

You may or may not get a notification that new software is available in Mac OS notifications like pictured above. You can find the same information in Self Service on your Mac.

Once you open SelfService.app on your Mac computer, search for Palo Alto GlobalProtect Client. Click on Install to download and install the software on your computer. The Palo Alto GlobalProtect Client is listed under the "Security" category.

After it is installed, a new icon will be visible in your menu bar that is shaped like a globe (world). After installation, it will ask you for the GlobalProtect portal address (picture below). Enter the url that you see there.

After this url has been entered, it will prompt you for your UWPlatt NetID credentials (picture below). This is to allow the computer to connect using your credentials to provide access according to your rights.

By being connected through the VPN connection, you can now natively access documents as if you were located on campus. This is an always-on VPN connection so you do not manually need to think about connecting and disconnecting.

Resources accessible now would be for example your shared folders, or your personal home directory.

If you encounter any issues, please call the ITS help desk for further troubleshooting support.
