Philo Introduction
An introduction to Philo, what it is, and how to get connected using a computer or phone.
Philo EDU Stream Television Services
Media Technology Services, a unit of ITS, provides support for the
Philo EDU television streaming service in the residence halls on the
Platteville campus. You gain access to Philo EDU through a Roku device, mobile
device (Play
Store, App Store), or computer.
Each student should bring their own data cable, switch, and/or Roku device.
Watching Philo EDU on a Roku device
You will need the MAC address of your Roku. Then you will need to register your Roku on the UWPlatt-unsecure wireless network at https://go.uwplatt.edu/unsecure-wifi-registration
NOTE: The UWPlatt-unsecure wireless network is being provided for devices that do not support WPA2-enterprise authentication. This network is not encrypted, so its use is somewhat limited for security reasons. You may use this wireless network with Roku streaming devices to access the Philo EDU streaming television service provided to residents of Platteville campus residence halls.
To watch Philo EDU on a Roku device, a special education version of the Philo App is required; this
particular app has a square academic cap icon (follow
these instructions).
