Wireless - Making a phone call over wireless
Instructions for making a phone call from your cell phone when reception is poor using a wireless network .
If you find yourself in a location with poor cell service (like a basement) and need to make a phone call, you can use a wireless network to make a Wi-Fi call. Wi-Fi calling allows phones to make and receive calls and text messages over the internet instead of the cellular network.
To utilize this feature at any UW-Platteville campus
- Configure your device for wireless (turn it on)
- Connect to UWPlatt or Eduroam (our high speed connections)
- Follow instructions for Wi-Fi calling from your provider. Links to the most common providers for this area are included below for your convenience.
