Required Settings

  • Browser Cache must be cleared frequently
  • Pop-up Blockers must be off
  • If using Internet Explorer, it cannot be in Compatibility View mode
  • Adobe Reader or equivalent PDF reader must be installed
    • (Get Adobe Reader at http://get.adobe.com/reader/ )
  • Cookies must be enabled
  • Javascript must be enabled

Known Browser Issues:

Mobile Devices:

  • Certain PeopleTools features (for example, the Back button, charts, menu breadcrumbs, and others) do not function properly in a private browsing session
    • Workaround - To enable full PeopleTools functionality, disable private browsing in the browser
  •  When accessing certain external URLs, the browser displays no content, or alternatively, a security error message.
    • Workaround - Open the external website content in a new browser window
  • When viewing attachments, superfluous message windows sometimes appear and remain open.
  •  After an upgrade, users might encounter anomalies with the display of fonts and certain images, such as the menu icon.
    • Workaround - Clear Cache completely by signing out, clearing cache, closing browser, then sign in again.
  • Desktop behavior is observed on a mobile device—for example, the classic homepage rather than the fluid homepage is displayed by default.
    • When accessing a PeopleSoft system on a mobile device, use the operating system’s native browser
  • Download to Excel is not supported.
    • You cannot download a grid to Excel on a mobile device.
  • Drag-and-drop of pagelets is not supported.
    • Workaround - Click the Personalize Layout link to rearrange the layout of pagelets on homepages and dashboard pages.
  • Pop-up pages contain a Close button
    • To dismiss the pop-up page, you must tap the Close button.
  • Scroll bars do not appear within
    • Mobile devices use a touch-based paradigm for scrolling. If you need to scroll or pan through the information within the grid, long edit box, or pagelet, use a twofinger drag

Safari:

  • There are issues displaying pop-up pages on Safari for iOS. These issues can include: 
    • The inability to close the pop-up page using the Close button. 
    • The inability to view all of the contents of long edit boxes. 
    • Certain page controls extend beyond the extents of the displayed page, but there is no ability to scroll to view these controls
  • Zooming (pinch to zoom) is disabled on fluid pages in iOS for small form factor devices only
  • On iOS, you are not able to download and view certian files. 
  • Some page elements are skipped when you tab through the page.

Chrome:

  • An error message similar to the following is displayed when attempting to open a file: Function 'onReadyState' Error: Access to 'file:///file_path/ file_name' from script denied
    • Workaround - Use Firefox or Safari
  • File attachments, such as PDF reports, downloaded from a PeopleSoft system are not automatically opened and displayed.
    • Workaround - Go to the Download folder on the device and manually open the downloaded file
  • Chrome built-in PDF reader sometimes do not display PASS PDFs, please use adobe reader.

Microsoft Edge:

  • When using the Navigator in the NavBar, folder links require two taps rather than one.
  • Autocomplete results are not dismissed for a prompt field after clicking outside the prompt field. 
  • The browser window closes without displaying any content when attempting to view feed documents.
  • An error message similar to the following is displayed when attempting to open a file: Function 'onReadyState' Error: Access to 'file:///file_path/ file_name' from script denied
    • Workaround - Use Firefox or Safari

Internet Explorer:

  • An error message similar to the following is displayed when attempting to open a file: Function 'onReadyState' Error: Access to 'file:///file_path/ file_name' from script denied
    • Workaround - Use Firefox or Safari
  • Loss of update, display of search page while clicking quickly on a PeopleSoft page. 
    • Workaround - Users should wait for the page to finish loading after every action.
  • When using the Navigator in the NavBar, folder links require two taps rather than one.
  • The type-ahead feature does not work well if you paste values in a prompt field.
  • Vertical lines are displayed in the header and the drop-down menu arrows are not aligned.
  • On the homepage, white space appears above the header.
  • Closing the browser does not delete the browser cache.
  • Internet Explorer 9 does not display the last rows of a grid on a page.

Firefox:

  • Firefox  built-in PDF reader sometimes do not display PASS PDFs, please use adobe reader.
