Tips - Locked out of Accounts on Mobile Devices

Problem: You recently changed your campus password, but you get locked out trying to access your account through a mobile device.

Solution:
When you change your UW-Platteville password, you will also need to change it on each of your mobile devices individually.  Each time the device attempts to access the campus network with an expired password counts as a failed attempt.  Depending on the device, it can attempt several times in just five seconds!  After 10 attempts, the system assumes you are up to no good, and locks you out.

Independent e-mail clients i.e. Thunderbird, Outlook and Mac mail should also be updated as quickly as possible to prevent getting locked out.

If you have questions, please contact the ITS Help Desk at 608.342.1400 or helpdesk@uwplatt.edu.  You may also visit the Help Desk on the first floor of the Karrmann Library.
