Registering iOS Devices on JAMF

Instructions for registering university owned iOS devices with the JAMF server.

Registering your iOS Device with JAMF

1. First verify the iPad name
a. Go to Settings
b. Select General
c. Select About
d. Select Name
e. Make sure the iPad has an asset sticker and name the device MOB######

2. After naming the iPad, open the Safari web browser

3. Go to

a. Click Continue when prompted to verify server identity

4. Log in using your username and password

5. The “Assign to User” box appears.  Enter the username of the primary user or manager of the iPad

6. Click Enroll

7. Click Continue when prompted to install CA certificate

8. At the prompt to “Install Profile” click Install

9. At the warning screen click Install

10. Another dialog will pop up asking to install profile – click Install

11. After the profile installs you see a confirmation dialog – click Done

12. The next prompt will install the MDM profile – click Continue

13. Another profile dialog about the standard profile will appear – click Install

14. A pop up dialog will appear again – click Install

15. A warning dialog will appear – click Install

16. A Remote Management dialog box will pop up – click Trust

17. After the standard profile is installed you will get a confirmation dialog – click Done

18. When complete, the web browser page will show a dialog that states “The enrollment process is complete.”

19. Close the browser

20. The “Self Service” application will automatically install; however, it may ask for permission to modify the page – click OK

The device is now enrolled and registered in JAMF.
