MyMedia: Edit Video Metadata

MEDIASPACE VERSION: 5 OR HIGHER

MyMedia metadata properties and other properties can be edited for each saved video media.  Video type media supports the following  options to be edited: details, clipping, commenting, add closed captioning and trim the length of the video clip.

REQUIRED:
  • University NetID login access to Kaltura MyMedia.
STEPS TO FOLLOW:
  1. Open the MyMedia Landing HomePage from D2L or from http://mymedia.uwplatt.edu/.
  2. Click the My Media menu item.

    Click MyMedia Option
  4. Click the Edit  button to edit the video type media.

    Click Edit
  6. A new page is displayed to allow editing the details, comment and other properties.

  8. The Details tab is the selected tab by default to allow for the following metadata changes:
    1. Change the name in the Name box for the saved video. 
    2. Enter a description  in the Description box for information about the saved video.
    3. Enter tag information in the Tags box for future searching of the saved video.
      Note: Minimally tag the audio with the abbreviated department name and course number (e.g., DEL7510, BASD2610, ENGRPHYS3640) and include the media type information (e.g. video)
      Note: The Details metadata are all searchable.
  9. Click the Save  button to save the updated metadata.

  11. Click the Options tab to manage comments and clipping for this saved video.
    1. Select the check box to allow everyone to create video clips from this video.
    2. Select a check box to disable comments.
    3. Select a check box to close discussion to not allow new comments.
