Storage - Accessing Storage on the Go
Instructions for accessing campus storage volumes (included USER1, your J-drive) via UW-Platteville's online storage application, ownCloud. Includes instruction on finding your personal J-drive as well as creating Favorites and logging out.
To log in to campus storage through a web browser,
- Go to www.uwplatt.edu/go/storage.
- Click the orange button Log into Storage on the Go on the storage landing page. The login screen to Storage on the Go is shown below.
- Log in using your campus username and password (NetID).
4. Select the desired storage volume. EXAMPLE: USER1
NOTE: For USER1 (J-drive), you will need to select your last initial (EXAMPLE: M), which will produce your individual account with your username (EXAMPLE: meyerdeb). Select your username to access your files.
It is possible to save regular destinations such as your USER1 account by selecting the star icon that appears when you hover your cursor over your selection. Selecting the star creates a Favorite, which can be quickly accessed under Favorites in the left margin.
NOTE: System updates, which happen regularly, can clear the Favorites menu, requiring you to reset your Favorites periodically.
To log out of Storage on the Go, click your username in the upper right hand corner, and select Log out from the drop-down menu.
