D2L: GRADING WITH A RUBRIC

VERSION: 10.3 AND HIGHER

Rubrics are an assessment tool used in Desire2Learn to evaluate students on a set of criteria and levels that an instructor sets. Using a rubric for grading helps to ensure fair and consistent grading. A rubric that is created in Desire2Learn can be used to assess Dropbox, Discussion and Quiz activities as well as Grade Items. This page provides information about how to use the rubric to assess Desire2Learn activities.

Note: The examples on this page are presented with Analytic Rubrics. The same procedures apply to Holistic Rubrics. With Holistic Rubrics, the user will only see one criteria and its associated levels.
REQUIRED:
  • Instructor access to a Desire2Learn course.
  • At least one rubric created in the Desire2Learn Rubrics tool and associated with a dropbox, quiz, discussion or grade item.
