Each residence room has two data ports, one on each side, to connect to our network. You can plug any network device into the “DATA” port. This is usually labeled as “DATA” “D01/D02”. The “VIDEO” “V01/V02” and “PHONE” “P01/P02” ports are currently not usable and will not connect you to the network. Connecting via Ethernet allows a faster and more reliable connection. This is especially useful if you play FPS games or use services that require a constant/stable connection.

Notes for Move-In Week
If you are using your own wireless router, and it was used prior to arriving at UW-Platteville, we recommend completing a factory reset as our network is set up much differently than most home/office networks. If you need help setting up a wireless router, please contact the ITS student employee in the building during move-in weekend
, or contact the ITS Help Desk.
During move-in week, thousands of users are registering devices at the same time.
- If the "NetReg" page does not load, or is slow to load, please be patient and let the page load without refreshing.
- If after many attempts you are still unable to get into "NetReg," please contact the ITS student employee in the building during move-in weekend, or contact the ITS Help Desk.
If you need support for your wireless router, be sure to contact ITS during move-in week. Wireless routers are Level 3 support, which means they are
allowed on the network but we cannot provide support for them and we
cannot help diagnose problems outside of move–in week. To learn more about support levels, click here.
If you have questions, please contact the ITS Help Desk at 608.342.1400 or email@example.com. You may also visit the Help Desk on the first floor of the Karrmann Library.
