Perceptive Content - Signing Contracts (Desktop Client)

Instructions for signing contracts within ImageNow client

To sign contracts, you need to enable the Perceptive Content Message Center.  For Step 6, select the queues that start with “DLC-Blue” or “DLC-CrseDevRev”.  Once these are selected, click “Apply” and “OK”. (If you already have the Message Center enabled, skip down to step 8.)

1.  Log into Perceptive Content and go to “Settings” on top of the Perceptive Content Toolbar.

2.  Click on “Options”.

3.  On the left side of the Perceptive Content Options window, click on “Toolbar”.

4.  Click on the “Message Center” Tab.

5.  Here you can select the queues that you would like displayed in your Message Center.  Select the queues you would like to see by clicking the check boxes to the left of the queues, and then click “Apply” and “OK”.

6.  Now, if you cannot see your Message Center, go back to “Settings” and click “Show Message Center”.  This will drop down your Message Center from your Perceptive Content toolbar with all of your documents.

7.  Your Perceptive Content Toolbar will now appear as such.  Simply clicking on any of the queues in the Message Center will open that queue and allow you to view the documents needing attention.

If you have questions, please contact the ITS Help Desk at 608.342.1400 or  You may also visit the Help Desk on the first floor of the Karrmann Library.

8.  In the Message Center, locate the queue that has documents in it.  To the right of the queue name, it will either say “0 Items” or “# Items”Double click on the appropriate queue to open.

9.  Now that the queue is open, double click on the document(s) within it to open the document.

10.  In the menu above, go to “View”, and then click on “Thumbnails”.

11.  You will typically be signing the very last page of the contract.  Enabling Thumbnails allows you to see a menu below the document page that shows all the pages of the contract.  Double click on the last page to open it.

12.  On the top toolbars, right click on the blue capital “T” to access your signature.  A menu will drop down; look for “My Signature”.  Once located, left click on your signature and this will turn your cursor into a blue “T”.

13.  Now you can click anywhere you wish on the document to place your signature.  Once you place your signature on the document, you can still move the text into the correct position in case you didn’t get it right where you wanted.  REMEMBER: No one can move, delete, nor duplicate your signature.  It is YOUR own signature!

14.  Once you have placed your signature, you will need to route it forward to the next queue.  To do this, go to “View”, and then select “Actions”.  Selecting this will show the “Actions Pane” on the left side of the window.  If the Actions Pane was already showing and it disappeared, simply go back to “View” and select “Actions” again.

15.  Now that the Actions Pane is showing, click “Route Forward”.  If you only have one queue to route to the document will close and be removed from your queue.  If you have access to route the document to a selection of queues, a window will open asking which queue you would like it to route to.  Simply select the queue and click “Route” at the bottom of the window.

This completes the process of signing contracts and moving it along your workflow.
