Computer Lab - Saving Files from Lab Computer

When working on a lab computer, save files to network storage rather than the desktop. Anything stored on the lab computer itself is not backed up and could be lost if the computer needs to be rebuilt. If you have not logged in to a specific workstation in over 10 days, any data you had stored on that workstation will have been deleted.

To save to network storage, select your USER account on the J: drive (labeled with your username).

You may also save to a portable device, i.e. a jump drive, or to cloud storage such as OneDrive.

If you have questions, please contact the ITS Help Desk at 608.342.1400 or helpdesk@uwplatt.edu.  You may also visit the Help Desk on the first floor of the Karrmann Library.
