Windows 10- Checking for Updates

How to update Windows in Windows 10

1.   To install Windows Updates, open up the settings menu. This can be done by searching Settings in the lower left-hand side of the screen.

Select the Update and Security option to see the current status of your computer, which will inform you if updates are currently available.

2.    If your device needs updates, you will see the following screen. Your computer will need to restart in order to properly install the updates. To install updates immediately, select the Restart Now option as shown below.

3.    If your device is already fully updated, you will see the following screen. To ensure that there are no new updates available, select the Check for Updates option. The screen will reload, then give you information about you computer status.
  • If there are new updates, they will appear. Proceed with the updates by selecting the Restart Now option as shown in step 2.
  • If there are still no current updates needed, you will once again see a statement saying that there are no updates available.
