Web Browsers- Clearing Saved Passwords

How to delete passwords saved by most browsers.

Google Chrome

  1. Open a new tab in Google Chrome.

  2. Select the menu option in the upper right hand corner of your browser, which appears as a row of 3 vertical dots. In the drop down menu, select Settings as shown below.


  3. Find and select the Show advanced settings... option.


  4. Locate and select the Manage Passwords option. This will be found under the Passwords and Forms category as shown below.


  5. Choose the site for which you would like to remove the saved password, and click on the "X" to the right of it to permanently remove it from your browser. Then Click Done.


  6. The site and password should no longer appear under your Saved Passwords. 

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open a new tab in Microsoft Edge.

  2. Select the menu option in the upper right hand corner of your browser, which appears as a row of 3 horizontal dots. In the drop down menu, select Settings as shown below.


  3. Scroll down and select View Advanced Settings.


  4. Locate and select Manage my saved passwords. This will be found under the Privacy and Services category as shown below.


  5. Choose the site for which you would like to remove the saved password, and click on the "X" to the right of it to permanently remove it from your browser.


  6. The site should no longer appear under the saved passwords.

Firefox

  1. Open a new tab in Firefox.
  2. Select the menu option in the upper right hand corner of your browser, which appears as 3 horizontal lines. In the drop down menu, select Options as shown below.


  3. Select Security in the side menu pane.

  4. Choose the Saved Logins... button.


  5. Choose the site for which you would like to remove the saved password and click the Remove button as shown below.


  6. The site and login information should no longer appear in the list of saved passwords. 

Safari

  1. Open a new tab in Safari.
  2. Select Preferences.


  3. Switch to the Autofill tab.


  4. Click the Edit button for usernames and passwords.


  5. Hit Remove to delete the entry that corresponds to the site that you would like to remove.


  6. The site and login information should no longer appear in the list of saved passwords.
