Canvas: Outcomes overview
Outcomes can be aligned to assessments in Canvas. Student learning outcomes can be added for a course, and general education learning outcomes and program outcomes can be selected from folders and easily added to a course to allow for achievement reporting.
The Canvas LMS provides faculty and instructors a convenient way to track student performance toward general education and program outcomes. General education outcomes and program outcomes are available in outcomes folders within Canvas. If a department would like to have program outcomes added to Canvas folder, this can be requested using the Outcome Folder Request form
Learning outcomes can be individually added to a Canvas course. This works well for course learning outcomes. Additionally, the institutional general education outcomes and program outcomes are available to download to a Canvas course by selecting the appropriate folder.
Working with shared outcomes folder will provide instructors a convenient method for reporting progress on outcomes for a particular course. Regardless of the degree to which an instructor uses Canvas, a method can be set up for reporting on outcomes.
